ATCEUC participates in every working group where its expertise might be called for: EAG ACG, SRC and other workshops from the PRC. ATCEUC has always relied on cooperation woth other European bodies. We work closely with IFATCA, and we shall endeavour to increase thay cooperation in order to use our complementarities as advantageously as possible. ATCEUC will use all the means at its disposal to express its concerns and to voice its opinions. It has published leaflets on specific topics, (ATFM improvements ATCEUC proposals), and is in the process of developing a web site.
ATCEUC was born because it became obvious that whatever the needs, the solution would have to take into account the fact that ATM system is completely integrated . That integration meant and still means that future necessary evolutions would have to be designed at European Level, or even Pan European level. In order to meet those international challeges, throughout Europe, controllers unions decided to pool the resources of their workforce. The position of Air Traffic Controllers in the ATM system gives them a very clear and precise overview of what needs to change and evolve. ATCEUC was created to put forward the views of its members at the European level, to give full scope to ATCOS expertise with regard to both technical and social issues. The initial goals of the coordination are unchanged.
Put forward the views of European Air Traffic Controllers in an honest and non political manner whenever our expertise might be called for. Make sure that ATCOS are involved in the definition of the European ATM system and kept informed of the upcoming evolutions so as to meet the challenges that the ever-growing traffic demand is imposing.
